In September, two 15-year-old girls in Los Angeles took overdoses when they learned that a prescription drug contained a narcotic (fentanyl). Teen deaths from drugs have doubled in recent years. Drugs such as fentanyl and street synthetics are not commonly found, but party drugs such as heroin, cocaine are in prescription drugs.
It is important for students to recognize the danger of drugs
In such a situation, two important things come to the fore to curb the habit of drugs among youth and adolescents. First, instead of instilling in the teen the fear of drugs, win honest trust. Second, school based programs have to keep in mind that not every drug can be banned.

A research in 2016 showed that the main cause of drug addiction in adolescents or youth is seen in pre-school itself. Extreme carelessness or severe anxiety, childhood trauma, neglect or any harm can turn them towards drugs.
Patricia Conrad, a psychiatrist at the University of Montreal, says that children should be given the right nutrition to keep them away from drugs. Apart from studies, other activities like sports should be engaged.
